ROSC Volunteer Opportunities

Are you looking for a way to volunteer?  We have ample opportunities for you to contribute a little of your time towards some fun and fulfilling causes. For more information contact our Volunteer Chair, Chetta Mallette

DAYCARE FOR VOLUNTEERS - You are a parent and you want to get out of the house to have some adult contact, learn some new skills or just support the community. You have children who are not in school and wonder how can I volunteer when I have no money to pay for child care? Air Force Aid Society offers $1,000 to the Airman & Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) for child care for volunteers.   Any questions may be answered by calling the A&FRC, at commercial 06371475100.  For more information please click to read the Volunteer Program newsletter.

PROJECT RUDOLPH - In 2006, Project Rudolph was created to give deployed service members a bit of holiday cheer. The charity gives bags to deployed and injured service members during the holidays.  Each individually decorated lunch bag contains hand-written letters of appreciation from children and adults, a non-breakable ornament, candy, and a poem. It’s the personal touch of the letters and bags that seem to make a difference.  Please visit the Project Rudolph website www.projectrudolph.homestead.com for more information. For additional information please click to read the Volunteer Program newsletter.    Want to support our troops and this charity?  Purchase a copy of Dear Soldier...Letters of Support To Service Members Around the World on the Project Rudolph website.  By ordering directly from the author, $5 from each purchase goes toward supporting Operation Angel, Project Rudolph and Project Portrait.

We are always looking for ways to raise money to help make sure Project Rudolph is a success, so this year we are having a yard sale on July 11th and are looking for donations of items to sell. If you can part with anything, please let us know. E-mail us at ProjectTLC2009@gmail.com.  We will be accepting donations up until a day or two before the sale.

PRIORITY PEOPLE - Please volunteer at the Ramstein Post Office Package Pickup Window.  Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays are the busiest days.  Whatever time you can give can make a difference.  ROSC volunteer nametags are available in the top drawer of the cabinet when you sign in.  First timer?  Please contact the Post Office Customer Service at 06371-476 166 or Postal.Service@ramstein.af.mil for your 10-minute training session.  It's easy and it's FUN!

THE EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER PROGRAM -- needs several volunteers to help arrange reference materials and reorganize their files.  This program is in place to help family members with a physical, emotional, developmental, or educational disability which requires specialized medical treatment, therapy, counseling, and/or education.  They are sponsored by the Army and reach out to all branches of service, providing services for all family members with special needs in the KMC. Their office is located on Pulaski Barracks in Army Community Service, building 2891.

Please contact Kimberly Hicks at kimberly.a.hicks@us.army.mil or 0631-3406-4110.  Whatever time you can donate is much appreciated.
